El SMC2862W-G es un adaptador USB 2.0 inalámbrico de 2.4 GHz y de 54 Mbps que ofrece la velocidad, cobertura y seguridad que exigen los usuarios inalámbricos de hoy en día. Basado en el estándar IEEE 802.11g y la tecnología PRISM Nitro™, el SMC2862W-G ha sido diseñado para aplicaciones que requieren un gran ancho de banda y es totalmente compatible con las redes inalámbricas existentes 802.11b. El SMC2862W-G es también compatible con los estándares USB 2.0 y USB 1.1. Con un rendimiento USB de 480 Mbps (40 veces más rápido que el USB 1.1), aprovecha al máximo del ancho de banda del 802.11g.
